IMPORTANT
Prices and Schedules may Change Without Notice. Check with the ferry company (see below) to make sure.
Schedules above are current as of December, 2024.
Currently half of the times are done by one company, and the other half done by the other company, switched on odd vs. even days.  That is too confusing, so we just merged the two until high season returns.

How to Travel to Cozumel by Ferry

The easiest way to reach Cozumel is by ferry from Playa del Carmen. Whether you’re coming from Cancun, Tulum, or elsewhere in the Riviera Maya, thousands make the 35–40 minute trip daily. Ferries run every 30 minutes, offering a convenient and frequent schedule.

Buying Cozumel Ferry Tickets

Three ferry companies now operate between Playa del Carmen and Cozumel, including the new addition from Grupo Xcaret, which offers departures every 30 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at kiosks near the pier or online in advance. You can choose between one-way or round-trip tickets.

We recommend buying a one-way ticket and purchasing your return ticket when you’re ready to head back. This flexibility ensures you won’t have to wait for a specific ferry or worry about missing your scheduled time. With ferries running frequently throughout the day, including until 10 PM, you’ll have plenty of options.
